Guitar Pro App Reviews

DISAPPOINTING!!!

I use this app on my PC and love it. This however,.... falls short of expectations on ipad 2. You cannot make or work on scores from scratch or even do dual guitar parts. Major let down for me, They really need to update this app. Notion does multitrack scoring but it is cumbersome. Please Arobas get this upgraded to allow multitrack scoring from scratch.

Great scoring program

I would have given it 5 stars but the app doesnt allow you to create more than one instrument. You can create and edit one line all you want but you cant make a score. You can import and edit different lines, but not create additional lines. If the manufacturer would like to change this feature I would give it 5 stars.

Amazing

This is a great app to have, especially when creativity hits you, but dont have access to your guitar close by. Only thing that could make this better is if it had the capabilities of the desktop version. Cant complain though.

I love it but...

Its a great app but you cant make actual scores. It only lets you single track so you cant over lap instruments. If they allowed you to do that I would definitely give it 5 stars. Please consider making this change!

Always awesome!

Love it.

Thumbs Down

I wouldnt recommend this if you have an iPad. I wasted $7.

Yeah

Cool app, maybe add an option to share to Facebook, itd get the GP name out there...

Not what you want it to be

It is amazing on a computer but terrible as an app. You cant even do notation for a note, just tabs. I used it for 10 minutes and thought I was missing something. I wasnt. Ive already requested a refund because of how disappointing it was.

Extremely disappointing

Writing on it is terrible. You cant do multi scoring, which is very frustrating when trying to write. Even 2 tracks would be nice for rhythm and lead. In addition the speed learning only goes in increments of 10% instead of 5%, which can make learning fast and technical music next to impossible. Overall very disappointed with this app. Updates never bring new features or improve the app in anyway.

I cant work on my songs

I got the app hoping Id be able to edit and work on current projects I downloaded to the app, but it wont allow you. Its the only issue I really have, but it is the main reason I got the app. Its perfect if youre just trying to learn a song that you downloaded to the app.

Mostly useless

I can not get any practical use of this app. The lack of multitrack support and no drum tablature make it difficult to recommend this. I purchased this is hopes that I could use it to help write ideas when I dont have access to the full version, but it is definitely a waste of $7. Stick to the real deal and ignore this.

Just The App I Needed

The little app handles my needs when Im away from my desktop or laptop. It lets me import my Guitar Pro music for play and review and it does that very well. It is limited in its editing capacity but still capable of cranking out single instrument tunes or creating riffs, licks, etc. For example, I realize that it is a simple composition but I used the Guitar Pro app on my iPad mini to write out Griegs "In the Hall of the Mountain King" for the bass. Very easy to do even with no instructions from the app manufacture however, I am a regular Guitar Pro User. Come people, its not even close to the "full size" Guitar Pro 6 program but it is quite handy for song review. Furthermore, I would never want to write an entire piece for a bunch of instruments on my iPad. It excels if you find a piece on the Internet and want to hear how that person put it together in any version of Guitar Pro. One more trick Ive done. A friend of mine plays Bluegrass and would like me to accompany him on a few songs in the near future. Since Im not a Bluegrass player I was not familiar with the songs. He sent them to me in a program called Tabledit. I then imported them into my desktop version of Guitar Pro and from there sent them to my iPad. Ive been able to read the music, listen to all the tunes of all songs, and turn up the volume and play along in a motel room while Im on the road. So far I even like a couple of the songs. What a fun and useful app.

Overall a good app

Could use more features but works well and is convenient to have on my phone.

Not what I expected

I was hoping I could enter music notes and it would give me the tab for the tune, but it does not seem to do that. It only give you notes and tab for pieces already installed in the program. Not worth the money as far as I was concerned.

Approved

Love this app. Writing on it is not pleasant, mostly cause my small phone screen. Great for on the go tab look ups

Happy except transpose does not transpose the notes

Very good in general. Affordable price. Just that it would be nice to have real transpose mode like in pc version where not only music transposed, also the tabs

I like it

I enjoy using this app when away from my computer.

Defective export to GPX

Resulting export file loops on the first bar forever. It does provide notes on the staff, but export file is almost worthless. Exported file doesnt work on my Mac or my iPhone6- same first bar-only playback issue.

Good app

Finding guitar pro files is a pain in the browser , make a mobile site that holds your files ? The option to make your own tabs is cool because I dont have to complete any bars to playback it an its simple to create

Perfect.

Exactly what youd expect.
